Wesley started skating at the age of 5 after watching the 1988 Olympic Winter Games.

Wesley is coached by Laura Sanders and Bill Fauver from 1995-2005.

Wesley attended Hillsboro High School in Nashville and graduated third in his class in 2004. He was also a winner of the on the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence

Wesley's hobbies include writing, driving and listening to loud music with his friend Morgan Matthews, thrift store shopping with morgan (in hopes of random vintage finds), traveling and of course, concerts.
