1. What are your goals for the season? I would really like to medal at both of my Grand Prix events and make the world team this year.
2. What surprises do you have planned for the new season? I have two new programs choreographed for this season that are very different in style from last year. I hope I surprise people with improved style!
3. What are your programs for next season? My short program is to "Night Train" and my long program is "Romeo and Juliet."
4. Which choreographers are you working with? This season I have worked with Jamie Isley on both of my programs. My coach Mark Mitchell has also helped her.
5. How do you make your programs difficult under the new system? I take each element at a time and try to make it the best it can be. It is difficult to fit all 8 jumps, high level spins and high level footwork into the length given for the program but with smart choreography and a lot of training I know I can do it.
6. What do you expect from Skate America? I expect two solid programs and a medal :-)

8. Who do you see as your biggest competitors this season? Evan Lysacek and Johnny Weir are always tough competitors. But mostly, I have to conquer my nerves and just skate like I do every day in practice.
9. Do you plan to skate until the 2010 Olympics? YES!!!!!!!
10. How do you feel about the new judging system? I like many aspects of the new judging system but I do feel that the program components have too much weight and the judges can still basically place skaters where they want them.
11. Do you still coach? I do still coach. I recently just got on staff at the Skating Club of Boston and am teaching about 7 hours a week this summer. It is just the right amount to keep my busy but not get in the way of my training.
12. Do you do any choreography? I have done a little choreography this year. Most of it has been for adult skaters that I teach. I really like building programs.
13. Have you heard the new Goo Goo Dolls CD?
I haven't heard the entire new Goo Goo Dolls CD yet. I have gotten in the habit of just downloading songs I hear on the radio and putting them on my iPod rather than listening to entire CD's. I'm sure I will like it though.
14. What are your favorite songs on the radio? Right now on the radio I like the new Nelly Furtado song "Promiscuous."

21. What do you do in your spare time? I like to go out to eat, watch movies and hang out in downtown Boston.
22. Who are your best friends? I am friends with a lot of the kids I train with at my rink but I mostly have friends that are outside of skating.
23. Do you visit skating message boards? No! You never know who the people are that are posting things and a lot of them don't know what they are talking about and just talk up their friends. |
