THOUGHTS - "Wedding Bells"
May
2, 2002
Hello
friends,
Since I win
the "He never writes" award, I thought I'd send
a quick update on none other but....ME! Wedding
plans are racing ahead and the big day is only
7 weeks away. The church where we booked the wedding
said we had to change the time of the ceremony
because they added Saturday evening services about
a month after they booked us. That was a big hassle
for a while until we could find another church.
I guess they're not big into keeping their promises
:-) I've picked out the tuxes for me and "the
guys". All the tuxes are black and I'll be wearing
a high cut white vest with a black button cover
at the neck instead of a bow tie. It is much more
modern and I think it looks so sharp. My brother
and the other two guys standing up for me will
have the same tux but with a lavender color vest
that is not as high cut. Obviously, I haven't
seen Tashiana's (my fiance) dress so I can't divulge
any details on that. The reception will be in
the backyard of a big Victorian home downtown.
It belongs to a friend of a friend of Tashiana's
mom. Isn't great how things like that work out?
God's hand has been evident in this planning since
the beginning. Every time we have a need or a
problem, God provides someone for it. I think
Tashiana's mom is even seeing it.
Training is still consuming my days along with
coaching. My short program has been choreographed
with an Italian flair to music from some old Fellinni
movies. The long has just been started and I'm
pretty sure I'll stick with Prokiev's Cinderella
ballet. I thought it was appropriate :-) On my
own I'm choreographing a show number to Sinatra's
"That's Life" and resurrecting my "James brown
Medley" from 1996. The only ice show I'm performing
in this year is the St. Clair Shores Reflections
on Ice April 24-28 in Michigan. Hopefully, I'll
see a few of you there. I'll also be competing
at the Liberty Summer Competition (formerly Wissahickon)
July 17-20. I'm a little concerned that I won't
be in great shape for it because I'll be off the
ice for a week and a half at the beginning of
June. Oh well, it's worth it!
I don't think there has ever been a time that
I've had to deal with so many different projects
and details going on at once. I'm thankful one
of my primary giftings is administration!
Love,
Ryan
