News Ross takes bronze medal at U.S. Championships January 29, 2012 — Ross won a second consecutive bronze medal at the U.S. Championships, taking third place with 230.32 points in San Jose, Calif. He scored 78.90 in his fourth place short program then handed in a third place free skate that received 151.42 points. Following the competition, he was named to the U.S. team for the Four Continents Championship and is an alternate for the World Championships.
Ross wins first Grand Prix medal November 13, 2011 — At the NHK Trophy in Sapporo, Japan, Ross scored 212.36 points to claim his first career medal on the Grand Prix series, a bronze. He was sixth in the short program (71.12) but improved to fourth in the free skate (141.24).
Ross finishes sixth in Canada October 30, 2011 — Ross opened his season with a sixth place showing at Skate Canada in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. En route to 202.36 points, he finished ninth in the short program with 60.83 and fifth in the free skate with 141.53.
Ross receives two Grand Prix assignments June 27, 2011 — Ross will compete at two events on the Grand Prix series this season. First, he will skate October 27-30 at Skate Canada in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, then travel to NHK Trophy, November 11-13, in Sapporo, Japan.
Ross finishes 11th at World Championships April 28, 2011 — Ross finished 11th at the World Championships in Moscow, Russia, with a personal best 217.93 points. He made his World debut with a 13th place short program, scoring a personal best 70.40, and 11th place free skate, scoring a personal best 147.53.
Ross wins bronze medal at 2011 U.S. Championship January 30, 2011 — Ross won the bronze medal at the 2011 U.S. Championship in Greensboro, N.C., and has been named to the U.S. Team for the 2011 World Championships. In his senior debut at nationals, Ross finished with a personal best 224.35 points. He was sixth in the short program but pulled up to the bronze medal with a second place free skate.
Ross takes seventh at Cup of China November 6, 2010 — At the Cup of China in Beijing, China, Ross finished seventh, two spots higher than he did in his Grand Prix debut earlier this season at the NHK Trophy in Nagoya, Japan. Ross also improved his overall score from Japan, finishing with a total score of 197.13 points in China, compared to 186.62. He was sixth in the short program and eighth in the free skate.
Ross finishes ninth at NHK Trophy October 23, 2010 — Ross made his Grand Prix debut with a ninth place showing at the NHK Trophy in Nagoya, Japan. He finished with 186.62 points overall following a seventh place short program (64.85) and a 10th place free skate (121.77).
Ross withdraws from 2010 U.S. Championships January 13, 2010 — Ross has withdrawn from the 2010 U.S. Championships, Jan. 14-24, in Spokane, Wash., because of a sprained ankle that he sustained in practice at the Skating Club of Boston a week ago. Miner was scheduled to make his senior debut in Spokane following a junior win at the 2009 nationals. “I sprained it doing a triple Axel while I was running my program,” Miner told Ice Network. After giving the injury a week to heal, hoping that he would be able to compete in his first senior event, Miner and his coaches Mark Mitchell and Peter Johansson decided Tuesday to withdraw.
Ross wins bronze medal at Junior Grand Prix Final December 4, 2009 — Ross won the bronze medal at the Junior Grand Prix Final in Tokyo, Japan, with a personal best score of 196.09 points. He was second in the short program with a personal best 70.85 and fourth in the free with 125.24.
Ross wins silver in Croatia October 10, 2009 — Ross won the silver medalat the Junior Grand Prix Croatia in Zagreb, Croatia. He was second in both portions of the competition, finishing with 196.08 overall. With the medal, he has qualified for the Junior Grand Prix Final, Dec. 3-6, in Tokyo, Japan.
Ross nominated for USOC Athlete of the Month October 6, 2009 — U.S. Figure Skating nominated Ross as their candidate for the U.S. Olympic Committee Athlete of the Month for September 2009, based on his stellar performance at Junior Grand Prix Lake Placid.
Ross wins JGP Lake Placid September 5, 2009 — Ross won his career debut on the Junior Grand Prix, taking the gold medal at JGP Lake Placid in Lake Placid, N.Y. He won both the short program and the free skate to finish with 179.95 points overall, more than 10 points higher than the silver medalist.

Ross assigned to JGP Lake Placid August 3, 2009 — U.S. Figure Skating announced today that Ross has been selected for the second event on the Junior Grand Prix series, JGP Lake Placid, Sept. 2-6, 2009, in Lake Placid, N.Y. The competition will mark Ross' first career apperance on the Junior Grand Prix.
Ross to compete on the Junior Grand Prix June 6, 2009 — U.S. Figure Skating announced today that Ross will receive at least one assignment on the Junior Grand Prix circuit, seven prestigious international competitions which are a unified point-scoring series. Official assignments will be named no later than 30 days prior to each competition. |
