Thanksgiving with the Flatts

We had a fantastic dinner of turkey, chicken, three types of potatoes, stuffing, salad, and pumpkin cheesecake with some neighbors back in San Diego - it was a blast catching up with everyone and sleeping a little too well after that feast! There was a lot of Catch Phrase played, football watched, and old embarrassing stories told that need to be forgotten (but always have a way of coming up). The dogs got their share of turkey and a little gravy as well, so they got to enjoy the festivities too!

Aside from that, things have been pretty hectic per the norm with competing at Sectionals, preparing for Nationals, finishing up midterms, and Christmas shopping for family and friends. The week off has been great to rehab my back, catch up on sleep, and procrastinate my work leading up to finals, but the next month and a half will certainly be a lot of work! I am so excited to compete in Boston at Nationals especially with it being an Olympic year again.

Between now and then, I have a lot of work to do: revamp my programs, train them so I can do them cold, study for finals (and ace them I hope!), and enjoy the snow back in Colorado over the holidays!! One of my favorite scenes from the winters in CO is seeing the Christmas lights on all the trees and houses poke through the snow at's a really neat effect. Jazzy and I are putting up our strands of lights next week to get in the holiday spirit too! Although last year, the lights stayed up until move-out day in June... so we'll see if the same goes for this year haha.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends (and dogs too)!
