Parker's Ice Show Raises over $20,000 for the MDA
Parker's ice show to benefit those afflicted with Muscular Dystrophy raised over $20,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Parker produced and directed the fundraiser, which was held in Newington, Connecticut on April 12th. Special guests included Emily Hughes, Dan Hollander, Tommy Steenburg, Stephanie Rosenthal, and Colin Pennington. Skaters from six different states participated in the event, including those with family members afflicted with MD.
The show was especially meaningful to Parker as his father has been diagnosed with MD. Parker dedicated his performance to his father before skating. “It was my most emotional performance ever,” said Parker. “I totally skated from the heart and the freedom it gave me was out of this world. I hope that through my skating I was able to connect and touch others,” he continued.
“All in all, it was a huge success,” Parker stated. “The way everyone united for the cause was just an incredible thing to witness and be a part of.”
