May 21, 2006 Hello, and thanks for visiting my site. There are quite a few updates that I would like to tell you all about. I will start with my surgery and continue to move forward. As most of you may have heard I was experiencing pain in my right groin and kind of thought nothing of it. I took the typical approach on it as if I had a pulled groin and did my best to rest it and lay low. The pain went on from September through January and everytime that I went to the doctor they weren't able to find anything wrong. Finally after Nationals I had severe pain and went to the emergency room where they were able to find that I had a Torsion and it had to be repaired immediately. I had the surgery and was held off the ice for 6 weeks. I am happy to report that I am healthy and pain free and enjoying my skating again. The second thing to tell you about is my coaching change. In April I made the change of training locations, as well as a new coach. I am currently working with Burt Lancon at the Toyota Training Center in El Segundo, CA. Making this change was a very hard decision for me. For anyone who knows me personaly you will know that I was extremely close with my previous coach. She was one of my closest friends but I really had to do what was best for me. I had to make the move, refind my love for the sport that I had put so much effort into, and make the statement that I've always wanted to make. In the last 4 weeks Burt and I have been making much progress and I am looking forward to the upcoming season. I however wasn't named to a USFS Envelope, so I don't know where my schedule will take me. I thank everyone for their support on all my decisions and my skating. I hope you enjoyed my site please keep checking back for updates and sign the guestbook before you leave! Much Love Nick |
