Orser no longer coaching Olympic Champion Kim

Meehee Park, Yu-Na Kim’s mother and a representative with AT Sports (Kim’s agency), met with Brian Orser and Tracy Wilson on August 2 in Toronto, Canada. They both informed the two-time Olympic Medalist that he would no longer be retained to coach Kim. No reason was given for the sudden and unexpected decision.

Bereswill, Wagner head to Nagano

The two American entrants in the ladies competition at the NHK Trophy have very different roles. While Ashley Wanger is among the medal favorites, Becky Bereswill is the newcomer, making her debut on the Grand Prix circuit in Nagano, Japan.

'Skate for Life' planned for June 27

Parker Pennington has a colorful resume that includes three national championships. But the accomplishment that he is most proud of is organizing the Skate for Life show, which raised $21,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association last year. He hosts the show again on June 27 in Stronsville, Ohio.

Novice, junior events kick off nationals

The U.S. Championships started Monday with four novice events and two junior competitions. After the junior ladies short program, Marissa Secundy sits ninth with 42.28 points. Lauren Gifford and Carson Bodnarek (30.17) are sixth in novice pairs.
