The 2011 International Skating Union (ISU) Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series continues Oct. 5-9 with athletes competing in Milan, Italy, at JGP Italy. Of the 90 competitors expected to compete in the ladies, men and ice dance events, six represent the United States: Courtney Hicks and Hannah Miller in ladies; Jason Brown and Jay Yostanto in men’s; and Lauren Bonacorsi and Travis Mager in ice dance.

Of the 129 competitors expected to compete in the ladies, men, pairs and ice dance events, 12 represent the United States: Katarina Kulgeyko and Vanessa Lam in ladies; Timothy Dolensky and Philip Warren in men’s; Haven Denney and Brandon Frazier, Kylie Duarte and Colin Grafton and Olivia Oltmanns and Joshua Santillan in pairs; and Alexandra Aldridge and Daniel Eaton.

Of the 115 competitors expected across the ladies. men, pairs and ice dance events, 14 athletes represent the United States.

Richard Dornbush finished first in the short program and free skate to win the men’s event at the Junior Grand Prix Final in Beijing, China, taking the gold medal over China’s Han Yan (186.05 points) and Canada’s Andrei Rogozin (181.78). Dornbush received personal best marks in the short (70.75) and free (148.81) for 219.59 points overall.

The third event of the 2010 International Skating Union (ISU) Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating (JGP) Series takes place Sept. 15-18 in Graz, Austria. The event, which will be held at the Eishalle Graz Liebenau, begins Thursday, Sept. 16 with the men’s and pairs short programs as well as the short dance. Official practice takes place Wednesday.
