Mahbanoozadeh proves he’s latest U.S. sensation

It means “born from a lady as beautiful as the moon” in Persian. It is pronounced almost exactly as it is spelled: Mah-ba-noo-za-day. And figure skating fans better get used to saying it.

Dan Hollander choreographs for Scott Hamilton

Dan Hollander’s resume includes everything from two-appearances at the World Championship to a long-term stint with Champions on Ice. Now it also includes choreography for his idol Scott Hamilton, the 1984 Olympic gold medalist.

Benefit auction for LaRoche’s foundation

Former U.S. Junior Men’s Champion Nicholas LaRoche is paying it forward. Through Jan. 17, LaRoche’s US Athletic Foundation is auctioning two dozen items on eBay, including one-of-a-skating skating memorabilia, to help fund the training of skaters who face financial hardships just as he did during his career.

Ryan Jahnke launching new site

On December 18, two-time national medalist Ryan Jahnke added another accolade to his resume. The former member of the U.S. World Championship team graduated from the University of Colorado, where he majored in finance and a minored in information systems. Now Jahnke is focused on putting his college degree to good use, launching his new Web site MySkatingMall.com.
