August 8, 2009

I recently debuted my new freeskate at the Liberty Open, as well as competed my short for a second season. I'm pleased with the progress over the early season, but look forward to training, now that I have a base to start the season. I'm excited with the response I've gotten from both programs over both summer competitions, Liberty Open and Skate Detroit.

So far this summer I've spent a lot of time working on my freeskate.  I spent the first part of the summer working with Choreographer of the Year, David Wilson, creating and building the program. This is our fourth consecutive season working together. I enjoyed my time working with David in Toronto, and am pleased with the new program. It's a pleasure working with such a choreographic genius.  After the summer competitions, I noticed a few home videos of the program surface on YouTube.  I look forward to working and improving it throughout the season. As of now my coach, Julianne Berlin, and I decided it would be best for me to compete the program one more time before the summer season ends, so I will be competing it at The Onyx Challenge on August 22nd.
