Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun (Hobonichi): I’m sure there’s a mix of reactions about who you are and what you stand for, with some like us rooting for you, and others who seem upset by your thinking and actions. Do you feel the voices of dissent have gotten stronger since you’ve married, or grown quiet?
Johnny: My marriage makes my life official. It’s not a question of is he gay, is he not gay, can I be the woman that will change him, is he a stereotypical gay person that changes boyfriends every week and parties a lot. A lot of those thoughts are quiet now because I’m married, and I’m an upstanding young citizen.
