Ice Network: Three-time U.S. champion Johnny Weir withdrew from the 2012 Rostelecom Cup on Saturday after re-aggravating a knee injury, the Russian news service R-Sport reported.

Competing for just the second time since the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, Weir finished 10th in Friday’s short program but decided he was not in good enough physical condition to take part in Saturday’s free skate.

“This is a very terrible setback and I’m not happy, but things happen in sports,” Weir told R-Sport.
