Ice NetworkJohnny Weir‘s comeback attempt has been put on hold, as the three-time U.S. champion has withdrawn from this week’s Trophée Eric Bompard in Paris, U.S. Figure Skating announced today.

This announcement comes just days after Weir pulled out of the 2012 Rostelecom Cup prior to the free skate because of a right hip injury he suffered in practice earlier in the week.

After withdrawing from the Grand Prix event in Moscow, Weir told the Russian news service R-Sport, “This is a very terrible setback and I’m not happy, but things happen in sports.”
