Holly Alexander secured her spot in Delaware history long before she became a champion figure skater. At 8 years old, she passed her boating license test, becoming the youngest person in state history to receive the license.

The boating license is just one of Holly’s many accomplishments. In 2007, she won the Eastern Sectional Championship in the novice ladies division after finishing third at the South Atlantic Regional Championships.

Holly made her national debut at the 2008 U.S. Championships in St. Paul, Minn.  After she placed eighth in the novice ladies event, the U.S. Figure Skating Association selected Holly for the 2014 U.S. Developmental Team.

The most defining moment in her career was "when I won easterns and qualified for my first nationals," said Holly, who wears Riedel boots with Pattern 99 parabolic blades.

Before moving to the novice level, Holly won back-to-back regional championships in 2006 and 2007, skating at the juvenile and intermediate levels. She also competed at the 2006 and 2007 U.S. junior national championships.

She started skating at 2 years old because her older sister Hope was a figure skater. Now 14, Holly trains at the renowned University of Delaware Ice Skating Training and Development Center.
