Biography Chelsi Guillen and Danny Curzon formed their partnership in April 2006 after a short tryout with each other. A month later, the pair passed the first of five tests to compete on the junior level. After skating together for less than 10 months, Chelsi and Danny won the silver medal at the Pacific Coast Sectionals, earning them a spot at the 2007 U.S. Championships. The most defining moment of their partnership was "placing eighth in junior pairs at 2007 Nationals in Spokane, Wash., which earned us a trip to our first Junior Grand Prix (in Tallinn, Estonia)," Danny said. During their second season together, Chelsi and Danny made their international debut with a ninth place finish at Junior Grand Prix Estonia. They also took 10th at Junior Grand Prix Great Britian. At the 2008 U.S. Championships, Chelsi and Danny won the bronze medal. After winning the junior pairs short program, the team finished fourth in the free skate. The performance qualified them for the World Junior Championships where they placed 10th. In the 2008-2009 season, Chelsi and Danny will compete on the senior level for the first time. The team would also like to eventually compete internationally as seniors. Chelsi and Danny currently train at Scottdale's Alltel Ice Den with Doug Ladret and Lara Ladret, who serve as both coaches and choreographers. They represent the Coyotes Skating Club of Arizona. |
