Dear Friends,
Welcome to my official site, Evan Lysacek Online. I use my page as a way to keep in contact with all of the people who support me and my skating so please check back often for updates.
The 2007-08 season was an exciting one for me. I started with silver medals on the Grand Prix at Skate America and Cup of China before winning my first Grand Prix Final medal, a bronze, in Torino, Italy, where the Olympics were held.
And now I am a two-time national champion after winning the gold medal at the U.S. Championships in St. Paul, Minn. It was a nerve wracking competition for me but I was happy to skate so well.
After an injury forced me to miss the World Championships, I finished the season with the top ranked free skate at the Japan Open team event. It was a blast competing on a team and my team, North America, was third overall.
I hope to see many of you, my friends, while I am competing and performing throughout the season. I will be skating in America, Canada and Japan throughout the coming months, so check my schedule to see if I'll be skating near you.
And if you're near Chicagoland on Sept. 27, please come out to "An Evening of Hope," which is a benefit show I am organizing in memory of my friend Stephanie Joseph. She passed away from cancer earlier this year.
Thank you again for all of your support throughout the past seasons. I really want all of you to know how much I appreciate the outpouring of encouragement that you've all given me.
I hope to update my site with good news throughout the coming months.
Fondly,
Evan Lysacek
