January 11, 2010 Heading to nationals in Spokane with Vancouver on our minds
The past few months have been quite the experience us for us. Not only did we make our debut on the Grand Prix, skating at the NHK Trophy and Skate Canada, but we were also on the cover of U.S. Figure Skating's SKATING Magazine. Seeing the cover for the first time was incredible. When you're growing up, you always hope to be a good enough skater to be on the covers of magazines and the front page of newspapers but you never expect it. Back to the Grand Prix, we are disappointed to have had some mistakes in the programs because we always want to perform the best that we can. It definitely wasn't our best but that's OK because we're able to learn from those performances and become stronger for nationals, and hopefully then the Olympics and Worlds. We still have a lot of positives to take away from the experiences in Japan and Canada even if we don't have any medals. We're leaving for the 2010 U.S. Championships in Spokane, Wash., in just a couple of days. Can you believe it has already been a year since we made our national debut? Obviously, we want to make an impression like we did in Cleveland. We want to put out two strong performances that show everyone what we are capable of. We've been training great so we're excited to compete. If we skate well at nationals, we think that we have a great chance to be selected for the U.S. Olympic team. Becoming Olympians this year would be a dream come true for both of us. We get chills just thinking about the possibility of being in Vancouver but we're not letting those thoughts detract from our training. We're focused on nationals for now, then we'll see what comes next. Thank you again for visiting our official site. When we get back from Spokane, we'll do our best to write another journal entry. Hopefully, we will have plenty of good things to tell you about. Wish us well. Caydee and Jeremy |
