Jeremy Barrett followed his sister into skating when he was 8 years old. From 1998-2001, Jeremy and his sister Shawn-Marie skated pairs, reaching the sectional championships and competing at the Junior Olympics before she retired from competitive skating.

Jeremy continued his pair career with Shantel Jordan. At the 2004 U.S. Championship, the pair won the junior pairs gold medal but due to their age difference, they were unable to compete in international competitions.

In 2006, Jeremy paired with Caydee Denney. The couple placed first at the Liberty Open and Indy Pairs Challenge summer competition before Caydee moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., to focus on her singles skating.

Jeremy remained without a partner until Caydee moved back to Florida in 2008. When the two stepped on the ice, it was like they had never ended their partnership. Six months into their rekindled career, they won the silver medal at the 2009 U.S. Championship, and then later became the highest placing American pair at the World Championships.

Jeremy said skating with Caydee in the 2008-09 season is his life-defining moment.

To support his skating career, Jeremy works at the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex doing everything from coaching skating to manning the snackbar. He would like to coach following his competitive career.
