Journal #1 - 4/3/07 |
April 3, 2007 Well, it has definitely been an exciting skating season. A lot of fun, excitement, and, of course, learning involved. My last competition was the 2007 US Nationals in Spokane, Washington, and I believe that it was my favorite nationals I have ever been to. It wasn’t just the skating that was amazing, but also the great time I had there. I was fortunate to have several of my friends and training mates make it to Nationals also, and we all got to cheer each other on. Those are the best parts of competitions—being able to enjoy it and have fun. This year at Nationals, placing fourth was very exciting for me. It was the highest I have ever been, and I received my first medal as a Senior lady. I was a little disappointed about the mistakes I had made in my freeskate, but overall I was pleased. Everything is a learning experience, and I saw it as a step in the right direction. I know just how much harder I will have to work in order to climb the ranks in the next season. As Nationals was my last competition of the season, I have been able to enjoy some time off. I trained up until Worlds was over as I was the first alternate, but it has been relaxing. I have been able to spend more time with my friends off the ice and concentrate a little harder on my schoolwork. J I am so grateful for the friends that I have. They support me wholeheartedly in whatever I do, and we have so much fun together. I recently had a party for my 19th birthday, and it was the most amazing birthday I have ever had. We spent the weekend at Universal Citywalk in Hollywood. We watched a movie, had dinner at the Hard Rock Café, and spent the night at the Hilton! I didn’t want it to end. Of course, it did, but I have great memories that will last a lifetime. God has truly blessed me in so many ways. I can’t wait to see what else He has in store for me in the future. Thanks again for reading my journal! Stay tuned for more updates! Love, Bebe |
