Star treatment one reason Vise is looking forward to nationals

Tiffany Vise and Derek Trent could become the first pair to land a throw quadruple jump at the U.S. Championships. Earlier this season, they became the first pair to land a throw quadruple jump, a Salchow, in international competition.

The chance to make history is not the only thing Vise is looking forward to in St. Paul. She recently sat down with Figure Skaters Online to discuss eight things she is looking forward to in her fifth U.S. Championships with Derek Trent.

1. Catching up with old friends. Even though we only see each other a two, three or four times a year, whenever we get together, it seems like we don't miss a beat with the long absence.
 
2. The Xcel Energy Center. I love skating in the arena because it is a lot warmer than the Alltel Ice Den in Scottsdale, Ariz., where we train.
 
3. Behind the scenes. I'm looking forward to the backstage area where it is lights, camera, action! 
 
4. Having fun with good performances. I'm looking forward to skating a great program and having fun doing it. Our goal is to skate for ourselves and have fun doing it. 
 
5. Family. I'm looking forward to seeing my family. Both my parents and my younger sister Brittany will be at Nationals.
 
6. The star treatment. I'm looking forward to getting my make-up and hair done by professionals.  I do it every year.
 
7. The fans. What I love about Nationals is having the crowd there to cheer you on. It is great hear a reaction after each element.
 
8. Shopping. I'm looking forward to going to Mall of America. The last time I was there I was around 13 years old and didn't care about shopping. All day long I had fun in the indoor amusement park. This time I want to go shopping.
